• Parking

  The hotel has one disabled parking bay, available on a ‘first come, first served’ basis. Pay-and-display car parks located near the hotel are available for both long stay (Mill Road: EX20 1HN and Simmons Park EX20 1PW) and short-term stay (Market Street: EX20 1PS). There is free on-street parking during 6pm–8am, Monday–Saturday and all day on Sunday. For more details, please contact the hotel directly.

• Local Transport

  Local taxis are available. Buses to Exeter and Plymouth run every 30 minutes during peak times. A train service from Okehampton to Exeter, via Crediton runs approximately every hour.

  Okehampton Castle
  
  The remains of the largest castle in Devon, in a stunning setting on a wooded spur above the rushing River Okement. Begun soon after the Norman Conquest as a motte and bailey castle with a stone keep, it was converted into a sumptuous residence in the 14th century by Hugh Courtenay, Earl of Devon, much of whose work survives.   Museum of Dartmoor Life
  
  Situated next door to the hotel. The museum premises consist of a three-storey former warehouse/mill and two ranges of building which were originally used for domestic and industrial purposes, all of which date from the early 19th century. The mill houses the museum while most of the range buildings are used as The Victorian Tea Rooms and let privately. The buildings are set around a cobbled courtyard which provides open-air seating. At the rear of the museum there is a car park and 19th-century waterwheel.
